About "East meets West"
The EPO's East Asia Helpdesk team has set up this virtual venue for patent information users to share information and knowledge, exchange experiences and help each other getting to grips with patent information from Asia.
The main purpose of the "East meets West" virtual venue is:
- to create a community across countries, continents and cultures, in which members share and exchange information, experiences and valuable insights with the rest of the user community.
Everybody can contribute and every contribution counts. Every news snippet and every little piece of information can help us map the world of patents from Asia. - to enable new ways of pooling, organising and sharing knowledge on patents and patent information from Asia.
An important aspect is the collaborative process of organising information and knowledge. You can contribute your comments and recommendations, but you can also help organise information by adding tags. When you tag important news items, discussion threads or pieces of information, you create metadata which will make it easier to find information, as this metadata is also searchable.
